Lactation Pumping Consultations
Prenatal/Postpartum Lactation Pumping Consultation $200
Ensure a positive beginning for breastfeeding! This antenatal consultation provides education about nursing and/or pumping, offers guidance on nursing and/or pumping management, and develops a tailored care strategy to assist you in achieving your goals during your journey.
Once you are postpartum, guidance is provided to help you navigate postpartum pumping and related concerns.
Postpartum Lactation Pumping Consultation $100-150
The postpartum pumping consultation provides personalized support and guidance for mothers navigating the challenges of nursing and pumping. Whether you’re transitioning from nursing to pumping, exclusively pumping, preparing to return to work, or simply seeking to establish a consistent milk supply, as a lactation consultant I am here to help.
Milk Supply Consultation $50
This service helps determine the type of low milk supply you may have. Primary low milk supply results from an underlying condition. Secondary low milk supply is caused by inefficient milk removal or other factors.
Telehealth Insurance Lactation Consultations
Lactation Consultation (30-60 minutes)
A consultation that is crafted to evaluate your breastfeeding objectives, tackle challenges hindering your progress, and formulate a care plan based on your life to ensure success in your breastfeeding journey. This is for any family nursing, pumping, supplementing feeds, or any combination of it all.
The Milk Effect is partnered with The Lactation Network and The Wildflower to provide insurance coverage with certain Insurance Providers
Breast Pump Consultations
Nipple Sizing $20
Don’t have time to do a video consultation and just want to be sized? Been sized before and want to check again as size may change over time? A nipple sizing service provides that flexibility. No video or chat support. Receive your recommendations via email and chat support for 2 weeks.
Flange Sizing Plus $40
No need to rely on guesswork or wishful thinking—let us be your guide to all things pumping. You'll receive recommended flange sizes for all the pumps currently available in the market and help navigating pumping through chat support and/or video with a care plan to help you along your journey.
Damaged/Pain Sizing $60
Experiencing pain, nipple color changes, blisters from latching, or damage from using the wrong flange size? Then this is the right service for you. Let’s find the root cause of the damage and/or pain and receive a care plan. This service is a 2 part consultation with follow up sessions.
***AT THE MILK EFFECT, SELECT SELF-PAY SERVICES OFFER A PAY-IN-FULL OPTION OR A PAYMENT PLAN. A FOLLOW-UP FEE OF $40–60 IS CHARGED IF YOU EXCEED THREE SESSIONS (INITIAL AND FOLLOW-UPS).***

Notes, care plans, and resources will be sent from Practice Better to the email you provide during intake
Emails and chat messages will be answered during business hours and between appointments.
Please send all communication through the patient portal (Practice Better), as it is the only platform that is HIPAA compliant. Follow-up questions are answered for the 7 days following our consultation; beyond that, a repeat visit must be scheduled.
Medical problems or emergencies regarding you or baby must be addressed by your doctor or pediatrician. I cannot give clinical advice outside of a physical assessment.
Scheduling
Appointments cancelled within 24 hours, or no-shows, are subject to a cancellation fee if no prior notification is given; this fee is not covered by insurance.
Self-pay clients who choose a payment plan option must place a deposit in order to book an appointment, this deposit will be deducted from the total price of the consultation. Each payment is due one week thereafter until full payment is completed.
Initial consultations range from 15 to 60 minutes, follow-up consultations are between 15 and 30 minutes. If you believe you will need additional time, please communicate with me about it prior to scheduling; additional fees may apply.
