Hidden Gem: Perifit Wearable Pump Review

If you know about Perifit, then you know about their pelvic floor trainer device and app. What you probably did not know is that they also have a wearable pump. Much to my surprise, this pump is definitely worth it for certain individuals and a hidden gem that needs to come to light. Here is why…

Pump Assessment

1️⃣ Suction & Milk Removal Efficiency

⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ (4.3 / 5)

✅ Strong wearable suction comparable to some plug-in pumps

✅ Customizable suction rhythms and automatic stimulation → expression transition

👉 Clinical insight:

This pump can perform well for moderate to experienced pumpers, but primary pumpers or NICU moms may still need a traditional motor for full drainage.

2️⃣ Comfort & Flange Design

⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ (4.2 / 5)

✅ Soft silicone flange designed to gently compress nipple tissue

✅ Multiple built-in flange sizes (no inserts required)

⚠️ Limited “in-between sizing” flexibility. Comes in 15, 18, 21 mm

3️⃣ Wearability & Discretion

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (4.7 / 5)

✅ Fully wireless in-bra design

✅ Quiet motor (~35 dB whisper-level noise)

✅ Freedom of movement supports pumping frequency

👉 Ideal users

✔️ Working moms

✔️ On-the-go pumpers

✔️ Secondary daytime pump

4️⃣ Output Tracking & Smart Features

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (4.8 / 5)

✅ App control + milk tracking

✅ Session history and coaching tools

✅ Remote adjustments without undressing

👉 This is a major differentiator vs many wearables and aligns with behavior-change lactation models.

5️⃣ Ease of Use & Cleaning

⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ (4.0 / 5)

✅ Few dishwasher-safe parts

✅ Simple assembly. There are markings on the side of the flange and connector piece foe easy visual setup/alignment

6️⃣ Battery Life & Practicality

⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ (4.1 / 5)

✅ ~120 minutes runtime (≈ 6–7 sessions per charge)

⚠️ Longer recharge time compared with newer premium wearables

7️⃣ Value for Cost

⭐⭐⭐☆☆ (3.6 / 5)

✅ Premium smart technology

⚠️ Higher replacement part cost

⚠️ Price approaches top-tier wearable category

🏆 Overall Milk Effect Pump Score

⭐ 4.2 / 5 — Strong smart wearable performer

✔️ Best for

  • Tech-driven pumpers

  • Moderate supply maintainers

  • Moms needing discreet workplace pumping

  • Secondary pump alongside Spectra / Genie / Symphony

⚠️ Use caution if

  • Exclusive pumper early postpartum

  • History of low supply

  • Need highly customizable flange inserts

  • Require maximum output sessions

A tech-forward lifestyle wearable that shines in convenience and tracking, but still benefits from pairing with a traditional pump for optimal long-term output.

Personal experience:

At first, I didn’t like the output I was getting with this pump. I wanted to put it down and not continue, but I decided to keep trying it and playing around with the settings.

One session at work I decided to just leave it alone and let it work. Boy, did it work. I was able to get 3 oz on that side alone. The pump transitioned from stimulation to expression on its own and I had better results.

For the app, it was great to be able to customize it to my body. There are three options for speed and three types of pumping programs. I personally used the moderate mode and a mix of the classic and mix-mode.

IBCLC Clinical Insight

The Perifit wearable sits in the “premium smart wearable” tier.

It performs better than many budget wearables in suction strength and behavior-tracking features, but may not fully replace a primary pump for supply establishment.
