⭐ 80–89 = Milk Effect Recommended

⭐ 70–79 = Milk Effect Worth Considering

⭐ 60–69 = Situational Use

Category Scoring Breakdown

1. Suction Effectiveness (20 points)

How well the pump removes milk

Score based on:

  • Max suction strength

  • Cycle pattern physiology

  • Emptying efficiency

  • Letdown stimulation ability

  • Comparable output vs hospital pump

Example scoring guide:

20 = “Hospital-grade” level emptying (Hospital grade is a term used to compare pumps used in the hospital setting or a marketing tool for pump companies)

15 = Strong wearable/portable/traditional performance

10 = Adequate but inconsistent

5 = Weak suction

 

2. Comfort & Flange Design (20 points)

Most important for long-term pumping success

Score based on:

  • Tunnel shape

  • Silicone vs plastic comfort

  • Elastic nipple friendliness

  • Nipple swelling tolerance

  • Pain prevention

20 = Exceptional comfort for the majority of users

15 = Generally comfortable

10 = Mixed feedback

5 = Frequently causes discomfort
